The Hack
Ok, the hack is easy and should only take you a few minutes.

  1. Make sure Firefox isn't running. Go to the following path (maybe different if you installed Firefox in a non-default location):

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins

  2. Find the file google.xml AND MAKE A BACK UP!... just in case.

  3. Open the file in Wordpad or your preferred editor (Notepad may not display the file properly).

  4. Find the following line:

    <Url type="text/html" method="GET" template="http://www.google.com/search">

  5. And change it to:

    <Url type="text/html" method="GET" template="http://www.google.co.uk/search">

See? Simple. Just change the .com to .co.uk or whatever Firefox location you use. Enjoy.
